How you'll contribute

A Nurse Technician who excels in this role:

Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.

Assists patients with activities of daily living including, bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.

Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.

Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.

Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.

Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.

Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.

Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licensure
State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) preferred.

Certifications
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Handle with Care certification preferred.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple healthcare software systems.

Ability to complete required Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, keyboard use, repetitive movements, kneeling and lifting/moving patients.
Occasional sitting and squatting.
Near and far vision with depth perception required.

Environmental Exposure
May include exposure to biohazardous waste, communicable diseases, hazardous chemicals, medications, dust, fumes, and latex.
